1. Who controls your data
The developer of Puki is the data controller for information processed directly by Puki. For privacy questions or requests, contact puki.support@proton.me.
2. Information we process
Puki may process your email address, account identifier, pet names and profiles, pet photos, vaccination and medicine records, feeding schedules, reminders, language, notification settings, widget preferences, family-sharing membership and shared pet-care data, and subscription entitlement.
3. How and why we use it
We use information to create and secure your account; provide pet profiles, records, reminders, widgets and Family Access; synchronize shared data; process selected photos; provide customer support; restore purchases; and protect the service. We do not sell personal data or use it for cross-app advertising or tracking.
4. Storage and service providers
Some app information is stored locally on your device. Account, authentication, Family Access, and shared data are processed using Supabase infrastructure. When you request automatic background removal, the selected photo is temporarily sent through a protected Supabase function to remove.bg solely to perform that action. Apple processes App Store purchases and subscription transactions. Apple also delivers local notification and widget functionality through iOS.
5. Legal bases
Where applicable, we process data to perform our agreement with you by providing Puki, based on your consent for optional permissions and photo processing, and for legitimate interests such as service security, reliability, and support. You may withdraw optional permissions in iOS Settings.
6. Sharing
We share information only with service providers needed to operate requested features, with family members you explicitly invite, when required by law, or to protect users and the service. Family members can view shared pet-care data in the family group.
7. Retention and deletion
Local information remains until you delete it, delete your account, or remove the app, subject to device backups. Cloud account and family data are retained while needed to provide the service. You can request deletion in Puki Settings or by contacting support. Limited records may be retained where required for legal, security, or dispute-resolution purposes.
8. Your choices and rights
You can review and edit app data, manage photo and notification permissions in iOS Settings, leave Family Access, and manage subscriptions through Apple. Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability and may complain to your local data-protection authority.
9. Security and international processing
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including authenticated access and encrypted network transport. No system is completely secure. Providers may process information outside your country subject to applicable safeguards.
10. Children
Puki is not intended for independent use by children below the age at which they may legally consent to data processing in their country. A parent or guardian should manage the account where required.
11. Changes
We may update this policy as Puki changes. Material changes will be reflected here with a revised effective date.
